There are shelves of dangerous products to choose from, and frankly, you cannot trust the advertisements or labels that are designed to entice you to buy a product.  The very idea of GreenWashing means that the claims being made do not live up to an honest review.

Every Green Clean Institute Certified™ product goes through a voluntary disclosure and professional ingredient review.   If you see this seal on a product, you can believe that the claims are fair, and your family is protected from known dangerous chemicals.  We look for these concerns in products:

   * Biodegrable
   * Sustainable Technology
   * Non-Toxic
   * No Carcinogens, Mutagens, Teratogens, or Hormone Disrupters
   * A pH between 4 and 10
   * Health Rating from 0-2

There are other issues such as Volatile Organic Compounds, flammability, and reactivity to other ingredients that must be considered as well.  Our job is to ask all the right questions like Consumer Reports does of so many other consumer products.  If we certify a product, it is because it demonstrates serious commitment to health safe and environmental quality.
