Allergies and Asthma

asthma and chemicalsThere is a direct link between exposure to chemical cleaners and the alarming increase in asthma in the last twenty years.  A study of 14,000 children up to the age of three and a half, published in the journal Thorax found that exposure to household products such as bleach, aerosols, carpet and window cleaners increased the risk of wheezing.

This chronic condition is either partially caused or made worse by the abundance of chemical-based cleaning products in our homes, schools, and workplace.  In fact, many of the "Clean" smells that you are familiar with are often part of the problem.

Since we spend 90% of our lives inside buildings, the compounding affect of chemical use is a constant exposure.  There is concern that healthy problems of the mother and exposures during pregnancy may create a disposition to asthma and allergies.
